The Alton Towers Theme Park & Water Park are open from 10am-4pm. 

Alton Towers Extraordinary Golf is open from 9am-5pm.

For the shortest queue times it is always best to avoid school holidays & bank holidays, especially in the summer. Weekends are also busier. Tuesday-Thursday in May, September or early October are ideal for shorter queues.

CBeebies Land at Alton Towers is a bright, playful area designed especially for young children, bringing the world of the BBC’s CBeebies channel to life through gentle rides, interactive shows, and character‑themed attractions. Families can explore favourites like the Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure, Postman Pat Parcel Post, In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, and Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride, all created to be friendly, accessible, and reassuring for little ones. The land also features live entertainment, meet‑and‑greets with popular characters, soft‑play zones, and plenty of sensory‑rich activities that encourage imagination and confidence. With its colourful theming, calm atmosphere, and focus on early‑years fun, CBeebies Land is a standout destination for families with toddlers and young children visiting Alton Towers.

The Smiler is Alton Towers’ most infamous coaster, holding the world record with 14 inversions, making it one of the most intense roller coasters ever built. It reaches 52 mph, features a hypnotic “mind‑manipulation” theme, and surrounds riders with disorienting twists, optical illusions, and synchronised effects designed to overwhelm the senses. Its compact, tangled layout creates near‑miss moments that keep the adrenaline high from start to finish.

Wicker Man is a modern wooden coaster infused with fire‑themed storytelling, blending traditional coaster design with immersive theatrics. Riders hit speeds of 44 mph as the train races through a towering burning effigy structure multiple times, accompanied by smoke, lighting, and tribal‑inspired sound design. It’s known for its smooth but punchy drops, fast pacing, and one of the strongest themed experiences in the UK.

Some outlets at the Resort such as our hotel bars, smaller retail outlets and food and beverage kiosks are cashless and payment can only be made using credit or debit cards. 

All other locations on the Theme Park accept both cash and card.
